Embedded KINEGRAM

The embedded KINEGRAM security element is an authentication device aimed to protect the personalized data and the photograph of the passport’s data page. Special emphasis is given to the protection against substitution of the engraved photograph, for which this transparent version offers best protection. Embedded KINEGRAM is supplied in different forms to suit the needs of different security printers. The main forms of supply are either in rolls as hot-stamping film or in sheet form for ready use on sheet collators.

  • Completely embedded and can therefore not be manipulated, and additionally protected by the overlaying polycarbonate layer against wear and tear in daily use
  • Large range of first, second and third level inspection features, including options such as combining transparent and metallized design elements
  • Compatible with most of today’s existing manufacturing processes to produce ICAO compliant documents

Window Solutions

The Integration of a window feature, secured with a KINEGRAM security element, significantly increases the security of a polycarbonate document, by adding an additional layer of complexity for fraudsters and by preventing some of the known manipulation attempts for data pages. The inspection of windows in documents is now made easy thanks to the specially developed window features KINEGRAM REVIEW, KINEGRAM RECOLOR and the visible KINEGRAM RFID freeform antennas.

  • KINEGRAM RECOLOR exhibits colours printed on the reverse side in register to the demetallized structure
  • KINEGRAM REVIEW consists of a single foil which has one diffractive structure on the front side and a second diffractive structure on the reverse side, whereby the demetallized patterns of each structure are in perfect registration to one another.
  • Free-form antennas are customized antenna designs, which exhibit a unique design element positioned in a window for visual inspection.
  • The window features are integrated within the document design so that fraudulent substitution of the KINEGRAM feature becomes extremely difficult or impossible

The KINEGRAM patch is applied on the surface of the polycarbonate data page and gives outstanding resolution and brilliance with distinct movement effects. The KINEGRAM patch is available as transparent, metallized or partial metallized version.

RFID Inlay

The KINEGRAM RFID concept is based on a “metal-on-demand” antenna technology, involving the selective deposition and formation of continuous copper layers on both sides of a wide variety of different foil substrates, including polycarbonate. Our antennas are produced at high production rates using environment-friendly manufacturing concepts and involving durable metallurgical chip bonding processes by lead free solder bonding. Our concept allows implementing unique antenna designs with improved RF performance. The copper layer properties are engineered to optimize the antenna inductance, capacitance and electrical resistance for each application.
